Vietjet launches direct flights on Viet Nam-New Delhi routes


Budget airline Vietjet on Monday launched two direct flights from Ha Noi and HCM City to New Delhi.

Vietjet is the first airline connecting the two biggest economic, cultural and tourist centres of Viet Nam and the capital of India.

The HCM City-New Delhi route operates four return flights per week. The flight departs from HCM City at 7pm and arrives in New Delhi at 10.50pm. The return flight takes off from New Delhi at 11.50pm and lands in HCM City at 6.10am (all in local times).

Meanwhile, three return flights per week are provided on the Ha Noi-New Delhi route. The flight leaves Ha Noi at 7.10pm and arrives in New Delhi at 10.50pm. The return flight takes off from New Delhi at 11.50pm and lands in Ha Noi at 5.20am (all in local times).

According to Vietjet, India is famous for its diverse, colorful culture, religion, food and tourism.

"Not only is the majestic landscape, India also attracts tourists by many impressive historical world heritages and Bodh Gaya pilgrimage beliefs that everyone wants to come at least once in their lifetime," the airline said in a statement.

Over the past three years, tourist exchanges between the two countries have risen more than 20 per cent per year.

More than 132,000 Indian visitors came to Viet Nam in 2018, an increase of 21 per cent compared to a year earlier, while a total of 31,400 Vietnamese tourists visited India, a year-on-year increase of 32 per cent.

In the first seven months of this year, Viet Nam welcomed above 88,560 Indian holiday-makers, up 20 per cent compared to the same period last year. — VNS

IndiGo Airlines recently launched Kolkata – Hanoi direct air service



IndiGo Airlines, the largest carrier in India, recently launched Kolkata – Hanoi direct air service.
The New Delhi – Ho Chi Minh City route is preparing for the launch in the soonest time.

The new route to Việt Nam is part of IndiGo’s plan to serve 24 destinations around the world, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, China, France, German, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland.
IndiGo Airlines occupies 39.5 per cent of the market share in India. It plans to raise its fleet to 200 aircraft from the current 163 during 2018-19. The carrier operates international flights to Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

After breakfast, meet your guide and driver at your hotel at 7.30 AM - 8.30 AM. Start a 3.5 hrs drive Halong Bay. Welcome on board. Lunch is servced while cruising in the magnificent Halong Bay. The junk stop at the Van Gia floating fishing village where you may take rowing boat or kayak to visit the village.

Continue cruising to explore the bay and visit the Halong Pearl Farm village. Enjoy some swimming if weather permit. 1. Bat Trang pottery villages:
About 13 kilometers south east of Hanoi center, Bat Trang village, established in 14th or 15th century, is famous for ceramic and pottery products of high quality such as vases, bowls, dishes, and many other kinds of ceramic products which have been exported worldwide.

2. Van Phuc silk village: 
About 8 km southwest of Ha Noi, Van Phuc silk village is well known for its traditional sericulture, weaving, and silk products for a long-lasting history of more than two thousand years. The village makes more than 2 million meters of silk per year and is an ideal place for silk products & souvenirs.

3. Duong Lam Ancient village: 
Duong Lam ancient village, some 60km to the west of Hanoi, has a history of about 1,200 years with many houses dating back up to 400 years. One special thing about the village is that most of the buildings here are made of laterite and mud, two materials that are abundant in the area. The village also has its prestige as two of Vietnam’s kings, Phung Hung (761-802) and Ngo Quyen (896-944) were born in here.

4. Dong Ho painting village
Dong Ho painting village,  30 km to the East of Hanoi, or Vietnamese woodblock prints is a distinct Vietnamese folk art. Dong Ho paintings reflect people's innermost feelings. Dong Ho paintings is made of  of bark of a tree called "Dzo. Colors of the painting are refined from various kinds of tree leaves that people can easily find in Vietnam. Dong Ho paintings have about 300 years of history in the north of Vietnam. It is always considered a symbol of traditional culture and aesthetic value of Vietnam.
